AUTO AND TRUCK KEYS
Auto, truck and RV keys
Lockouts, lost keys, chip keys and key originating from the counter on West Washington Ave in Yakima.
Chapter 01
Locked out, or down to no key at all
We offer auto and truck lock service from the counter at 3402 West Washington Ave, and we can help you with auto lockouts when the keys are sitting on the seat and the doors won't open. Call the shop first. Tell us the make, the model and the year, and tell us where you're parked in Yakima, Ellensburg or Toppenish. After hours service is available, so a lockout at 6:00 in the evening is still worth a phone call.
Lost keys are a different problem, because there is nothing to copy. That's where key originating comes in: we make you a new key for the vehicle when you don't have a working one to start from. If you've lost your only key, you're in the right place, and we'd rather hear about it before you tow the truck anywhere.
If you still have one working key, don't wait for it to go missing as well. A copy made now, while the first key still works, is the simplest repair we do. Bring it to the counter and we'll tell you what your vehicle takes.

Chip keys, and what programming actually means
Most keys cut for newer cars and trucks carry a small chip inside the plastic head. The chip holds a code, and the vehicle only starts when it reads a code it recognizes. A key that is cut perfectly but not programmed will turn in the ignition and still not start the engine. That's why we handle chip keys, key originating and lost keys as one job and not three.
Programming is the step where the vehicle learns the new key. We do chip key programming here at the shop, and we cut high security laser cut keys, the ones with the groove milled into the blade instead of teeth on the edge. When you call, have the year and model ready and tell us how many working keys you have left. That one detail changes the job more than anything else.
Factory vehicle remotes are their own item, with a programming fee required. We keep that on its own page so the details are easy to find, and you can read it before you make the drive to the shop.
Chapter 03
RVs, motorcycles, UTVs and cargo trailers
Cars and trucks aren't the only things people lose keys for. We also make keys for RVs, motorcycles, UTVs and cargo trailers, the vehicles that sit in a driveway or a barn all winter and get hunted for in March. A key for any of them starts at the same counter, with the same phone number.
These vehicles vary a lot more than a pickup does, so call ahead and describe what you have: the maker, the model, the year, and what the old key looks like if you still have it. A quick description over the phone saves you a trip across Yakima. If the key sits in a box at home, bring the vehicle details and bring the key.
If your vehicle isn't named here, call us at the shop and ask. Our own line says it best: if you do not see your needs listed, please call and ask.
